My guiding experience spans two decades in beautiful Moab, UT. Most of my guiding experience is as a whitewater river guide on the Colorado River, down in Cataract Canyon located in the heart of Canyonlands National Park. As a trail running guide in Moab, I have been conducting trips for 3 years. Though, I have been running for 15 years in the area. Recently, I combined my passion for guiding and trail running into one passion, Moab Trail Running Adventures. My love for Moab trail running has inspired me to show runners the backcountry beauty of my home.
I like to spend a guided trip teaching guests about the geology of the area, which Moab is famous for. I can take your imagination back in time to a place where human life did not exist, but I also can bring you back to when the Ancient Pueblos inhabited the Southwest Four Corners. We can actually visit ancient sites along some of our running routes, and we will see dinosaur tracks embedded on the trails we run. Choosing to join Moab Trail Running Adventures for a guided trip will allow you to experience our beautiful trails and run away with more knowledge on what you have seen.
I’ve been going to ultra-races since the early 80’s, with my dad. When I was five, I asked my dad to take me running; I wanted to be just like him. At the age of 6, I ran my first 10k and have been running ever since. I started the first trail race in Moab, in 2004. Before 2004, there was not one event catering to trail runners. Our company, GrassRoots Events now has 3 trail races in the Moab area and add 2 in Arizona
